VACANCIES

We are looking for a Senior or Associate Landscape Architect / Landscape Planner to join the team.

We have just celebrated our 2-year anniversary and with the enthusiasm and hard work of a small and talented team, we are growing fast.

The work is exciting and challenging.  We have fantastic projects on the go, from large strategic sites in complex and sensitive locations to compact urban realms site and we need people that are enthusiastic, proactive, open and communicative, who share our values and love our career. We pride ourselves in helpful, honest and open communication with our clients and project teams; this allows us to give our clients thoughtful, analytical advice, and work closely with all members of a project team.

We foster an environment where everyone is positively encouraged to contribute ideas and want people that will challenge ideas and process, from the work we do right through to the tech and systems that we use, and a willingness to adapt and learn quickly. We want someone who can juggle pressures and workload and thrive in an environment which will have its pressures being a small business but also embrace the positives of this. We are looking for someone who can actively search for project opportunities and enjoy working collaboratively with other disciplines.

The ideal team member will have substantial LVIA and landscape planning experience as well as experience in strategic and detailed design.  Many of the clients we work with involve us at project inception through to completion, so our role is crucial.  This requires creativity and an ability to read the landscape, and digest substantial amounts of evidence and input from other consultants, and an ability to think and communicate ideas at a strategic scale.  We need someone with strong graphic and communication skills and design flair, who is able to communicate complex ideas graphically and verbally.

In return you will feel valued and motivated.  The ETLA studio is based in Canterbury & is not a 9 – 5 culture, we are open to part time working and flexible working and the salary is competitive.  The programmes we use include the Adobe package, KeySCAPE, ArcGIS Pro and Sketchup.

For the right person, who shows aptitude, commitment and talent for management and is aligned with our values, ETLA will support and promote you, with the option to gain equity within the business in the future.  We are looking for a team member who is chartered or on course to gain chartership and someone who is interested in supporting more junior members of the team to develop their skills too.  Our team members volunteer and get involved in initiatives that interest them, which is something that we encourage as a practice.  And we have an office dog called Stanley...
